We are a a nondenominational, not for profit service to provide around the clock Pastoral
Services to promote quality of life in the work place, for seafarers, stevedores, transport
operatives, management, staff and all other maritime personnel, irrespective of race, colour or
creed, by initiating action, providing assistance and support in the following areas:
- Bereavement Counseling
- Stress Management
- Anger Management
- Substance abuse – alcohol and drug abuse
- Domestic and family issues exacerbated by estrangement, isolation and shift work
- Facilitate harmony in the work place to offset the difference of language, culture and
nationality
- Encourage visiting seafarers to use their leisure time constructively to avoid boredom
and depression.
- Liaison and establish networks with other welfare agencies
- Act as a conduit and mediator in conflict situations
- When necessary visit seafarers in institutions e.g. hospitals, prisons, detox centres etc.
- To be “a go to agent” for any personal problem being assured of absolute confidentiality
